Richard S. Brownlee III

 

Richard S. Brownlee III has a specialized corporate and business practice in the Missouri state capital for over 40 years.

 

Legislative Branch Services - Four decades of clients include State Farm Insurance Companies, American Insurance Association (AIA), National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Assurant Solutions, Google Inc., and various industry groups.

Executive Branch Services - He has represent major corporate clients on matters dealing with state purchasing and contractual matters including relationships with Office of Administration, Public Safety, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Labor and Conservation.

Insurance - He has served as legislative counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies beginning in the mid-seventies. In addition, he provides corporate legal services to many of the major property, casualty, life and health insurance industry, including Allstate, AIG, Church Mutual, Esurance, Liberty Mutual, Farmers (and subsidiaries), Assurant, Ace/Chubb, The Hartford, GuideOne, etc. He also has served for many years as Missouri counsel to AIA and NCCI. He has served as counsel to Empire District Electric Company, a major provider of electric, gas and water service in the state.  In addition, he served for many years as counsel to the Missouri Cable Telecommunications Association.

  • Industrial Lime – major permitting issues for Chemical Lime.
  • Water and Sewage – permitting at Department of Natural Resources and PSC regulation.
  • Land Use – represented the town of Arrow Rock, Missouri in a successful rejection of a proposed CAFO project.
